10 months post op- sudden pain and bleeding

I am a little freaked out- advanced warning- may be TMI but don't know where else to turn- I am 10 months post op from a TLH - i kept both ovaries but that is it. I have had no issues besides a longer then expected recovery. Last night during intercourse (sorry- blushing as i type), I experienced sudden pain followed by spotting, that has continued today. I still am having pain and crampiness. I am trying to ignore it hoping it will go away. I just can't imagine what would cause the spotting and pain- I mean, there is nothing in there. Anyone experience anything similar to this? I am trying not to worry. I never had any fibroids or cysts or anything. Just endometriosos. thanks in advance and I apologize for over sharing.

That could be the answer right there, the endometriosis. Unfortunately, a hysterectomy does not cure endometriosis and it can implant in the vagina and on the vaginal cuff causing post hysterectomy spotting. It can also cause pain and issues where ever it remains.

Also, there could be granulation involving the cuff that has been irritated by sexual intercourse. And if for some reason your cuff was weak, you may have caused a possible tear.

Additionally, even with your ovaries you may be experiencing some vaginal dryness that could be part of the problem. And you may have an ovarian cyst involved complicating the picture.

I would suggest calling your doctor to see what might be going on. There could be several other reasons for the pain and bleeding including a bladder issue and/or infection.

Try not to panic but let us know what your says!

good gravy. the fun continues. i went to my PCM to get a referral to my surgeon b/c the bleeding and pain continues. All she saw was one tiny pin sized scab that she cauterized. But the pain that I am experiencing from the pelvic exam is unreal. 800 mg motrin and an hour and half later and still in tremendous pain. this is just awful. so much for the TLH being the cure.So now waiting for the referral to go through to go back to my surgeon.
