I had a Da Vinci. I needed a tummy pillow. I would not want a binder. I only wanted the pillow for car rides and couching... I would not have wanted constant pressure.

Re: Tummy Pillow

I had an LSH. I have used my pee wee pillow pet so much! I use it when I sit up, lay down, laugh, cough, sneeze, ride in the car. I don't have a large incision but it still helps to support those sore tummy muscles.

Re: Tummy Pillow

I had an LSH with only 3 incisions. I got a binder and couldn't live without it. Some people swear by them and others don't. My insurance didn't cover it and I'm pretty poor but I still sprung for the one in the HysterSister store, the plain one not the one with the heating/cooling pads. It was cheaper than the ones at the drugstore and was narrower, which works better for me because I'm really short.

I would get a pillow. Pillow pets are cute and will make you smile even if you don't use it. I found the mini one is the right size.

Re: Tummy Pillow

I had my LSH yesterday and wouldn't have made it until today without my Santa pillow.

Re: Tummy Pillow (child mentioned)

I am so excited to break out my mini pillow pet, a zebra stripes puppy. My 8 yr old will be so jealous...LOL! I am having Da Vincci but I read from my sisters how helpful the pillow will be for the car ride home/seat belt, laughing, and sneezing.

Scheduled for 12/28. Good luck sisters!

Bo-Bo will be accompanying me to the 'castle' for a little added moral support and an extra friendly face to greet me when I wake up. Who says stuffed animals aren't for the young at heart?
No need to give him up, you want your pillow for a Lap hyst too. I had one and I use my little travel pillow still to sleep against, hold on my tummy for coughing, sneezing and laughing (yes, laughing hurts but gets better every day), in the car to have between me and the seat belt and to set my iPad on. I will love this pillow forever!!!!!

Re: Tummy Pillow

My daughter bought me a red dragon pee wee and presented it to me in the hospital. The staff fell in love with it, too. One nurse kidnapped it and showed it off to everyone! Probably didn't help that I was in the pediatric wing post-op. LOL!

Re: Tummy Pillow

I didn't have a pillow pet but I did have a stuffed hamster I named Hammy that I took with me. Between that and my tiger slippers the nurses got a good laugh out of me.
