Vivelle-Dot

Help... I'm on my third week of recovery from my LAH/BSO.

I was during fine until I had my two weeks check-up and my doctor recommend me going on HRT, So this week I decided to take her advise and put the patch on "Vivelle-Dot patch 0.0375mg" which has to be replaced twice a week, since I have been wearing it. Its the third day I have notice that my body is aching and a slight headach by the lower part of my neck, also the hot flashes seem to last longer at night. Has anyone had and problems with Vivelle as well or is this normal. Please HELP !

Re: Vivelle-Dot

I've been doing well on this patch but I have been having headaches which I don't like and left breast has been sore. My back has also been hurting. I have no idea if this is related to the patch at all since I began using it the day after surgery. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Re: Vivelle-Dot

Thanks for responding back.. See I didn't start it until after my two weeks check up.. Which prior to that I didn't have the headache and shoulder aching as well.. I also have notice that when used on stomach I feel like I need to use the restroom every five minutes. This is my second patch as of today and decided to try a different area on butt area.. I will see if same affect and if so then I plan on stop using...

Re: Vivelle-Dot

I seem to be doing ok aside from the aches. I didn't even think of trying the butt area. I haven't noticed a change urge to use the bathroom either which is good. I will continue to monitor any symptoms over time and see what happens. Best of luck to you. If you find something that works better for you, please share. Thanks!

Re: Vivelle-Dot

I was using a low dose of the vivelle- dot but it was giving me migraines and dizziness. The symptoms were most noticeable a few hours after I would change the patch. I stuck it out for about 2 weeks and then called my dr. I am now on the lowest dose of Premarin available and it seems to agree with me better. Keep talking your dr until you find something that works for you!

Re: Vivelle-Dot

I also had PCOS and I wonder if HRT is more difficult for us because we didn't have normal levels of estrogen before surgery. Who knows.

Re: Vivelle-Dot

That's a good question. I know when my ovaries were removed they were both polycystic. I was put on glucophage for a while from the symptoms related to PCOS. At that point I was rarely having periods at all but still lots of pain as the cysts would rupture. It took a long time to get pregnant with both of my children but after I had my daughter, my periods came monthly again. However they were very heavy and painful.

I guess it's trial and error at this point as we find what will work for us.
