Menopause or not

Hi sisters. I am post op 4 days now but did not have a good night last night or today.. I woke like a lark at three o clock in a sweat followed by a chill my heart was stressed out. Beating fast and hopping about in my chest. This continued for two and half hours. I took aconite and bach remedies and finally fell asleep. All day I have been clammy and cold. The chills run down your back to your limbs. If I drink a hot drink I'm sweating, palms of my hands drenched in sweat. The nurses are saying its unlikely to be hormonal. They are looking towards an infection. Two urine samples are clear. Scar good no bad smells anywhere.. Please please someone put my mind at rest and tell me I'm hormonal and that they feel the same. I do not want to think that this is an infection about to take hold. Otherwise I'm ok. Mood ok!!

Re: Menopause or not

I had that yesterday and the day before. I really felt like I was coming down with something. Chills running up and down me and then when I ate or slept, pouring with sweat. Felt like poo! Happened to have a Dr appt yesterday and asked him about it. He examined me and said that I might have a touch of a virus but found no signs of infection. Today I have had a chill or 2 but mostly felt normal, so it looks like it is passing.

Re: Menopause or not

Sometimes my heart flutters, I get night sweat..just drenched in sweat..I awaken with a new hairdo because the sweat got my hair so wet then it dries into wrinkles depending on how I am laying while sleeping. I get hot and cold flashes, sometimes nausea and headaches just to name a few of the most recent. the menopause thing is interesting to say the least. So, you are not alone. There is a long list of symptoms on this site. Just do a search and you will see lots of them. Or google it and it lists several of the symptoms that we are having. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: Menopause or not

Thanks sisters .. The latest is my consultant discharged me today saying it could be a combination of hormones mixed with a reaction to a major surgery. It can take time for your body to recover from the shock and chaos a major surgical procedure causes to your body and that responses to temp can be a bit mixed up for some while after! I really appreciated your replies and I'm feelin ok. I'm still a little hot and cold but not as bad as before. Glad to be home! Hope all is ok with you too! You never said how long post op you were!! Cheers!!
