Starting to wig out!

My surgery is on December 22nd. 11 days to go!! I am readyish. I just have to put the finishing touches on cleaning. Having my folks over for dinner on the 19th. I am ready for Christmas. I have done all I can. Tree is done, I am watching Michael Buble Christmas. And I am freaking out. All the what ifs are creeping in. I would ruin Christmas for my entire family forever if something bad was to happen. And I never thought I would be the type to get teary eyed over of the loss of my uterus. I am not going to feel less like a woman, but my uterus gave me three awesome sons. I feel a sense of loss in that retrospect. Weird. I wish it would just hurry up and get here. I cannot wait to be on the other side.

Re: Starting to wig out!

Your feelings are very normal and I think everyone has 'what if' issues.

About that uterus: You are losing the choice to ever give birth again and it's a hard thing, but look at it this way - Your uterus isn't doing you any favors and in fact is causing you problems. It's a relationship that you have decided needs to come to an end for your physical and mental health. Look forward to a future without it.

Re: Starting to wig out!

I completely understand as I feel the exact same way! I have three sons also yet I feel so conflicted about loosing it even though I cannot have anymore children either due to a previous ablation. Mine is this friday, and I am almost ready-need to finish Christmas shopping this week is all, but I'm having some random, uncontrollable anxiety-it started at work last week actually-I'm not sure at all if it's "normal" and I just know I hate it controlling me and I wonder if I should call my Dr. and ask for something to get me through the next 4 days as I feel like I'm going to break out in tears at the most innappropriate moments, and I can't be doing that at work these last three days I am there-I have to remain professional, and I also dont' want to scare my kids or let them know how scared to death I am.

((HUGS)) to you from me.
