Question about hormones

I had ovaries out 12/9. Haven't had any menopause symptoms. Started the patch yesterday and was wondering if it stops all the symptoms or not? Will I still have hot flashes and everything else that comes with it? Because I haven't had anything and I wa wondering if now that I'm on the patch if I won't have any symptoms. Is it usually this easy to get the dose right I'm on .1.? How soon does it take the hormone to start working? Just need some answers. Thank you. I would like to here some of y'all stories. I am 29 and I have a feeling I have a long road ahead of me.

Re: Question about hormones

It's possible that you will have symptoms as your body depletes the hormones your ovaries made and as you adapt to your new estrogen source. Time will tell if the dose you're on is right for you or not and you might find it helpful to keep a journal of any symptoms you experience.

I'm using the 0.1 Vivelle Dot and have been on it for years. It's very effective--I don't have any symptoms of low or high estrogen--I feel just right.

While it can take time to find the right dose because it's a trial and error process, some women are lucky and start out on the best dose for their needs. I hope you're one of that group!

Best wishes as you heal from your oophorectomy!
