How to use progesterone after uterine hysterectomy?

Hi all:

I'm so glad to have found this forum. I had my hysterectomy several years ago and am interested in trying natural progesterone therapy. My uterus and cervix were removed but I kept my ovaries.

I have asthma and it's much worse during certain times which my breasts become very tender too. I've researched and found that women are more likely to be hospitalized for asthma 4 days before menstruation to about 4 days after the start. Research has shown progesterone cream to make a significant difference. There are, however, no instructions on how to use the cream for relief of asthma.

I wonder if anyone knows when I should use this cream? General directions state from day 6 to 26. Since I've had my uterus removed, I don't bleed. How do you know when day 1 is if you don't bleed? Since research shows that the asthma trouble appears to be related to low progesterone, wouldn't I want to take it while I'm experiencing my symptoms, and if so, this could be during my period, in which you're not suppose to be taking it.

Does anyone else use Progesterone cream who have had a hysterectomy and kept there ovaries?

Unfortunately, I also cannot be sure when my cycle will be as I'm 50 now and sometimes I'll go an entire month without symptoms.
