Re: Going back to work

Keep your six weeks. If you can take them, it is so much better for your body and your healing to just relax during your time off and work on pampering yourself. You will have a much better and happier recovery if you take the time off.

Re: Going back to work

I agree. Two weeks is pretty tight. I did go back to work at a desk job after three weeks with a TAH BSO. However, I only did part time and it was pretty tough. I did part time work for four weeks before managing a full 8 hour day.

Good luck.

Re: Going back to work

Definitely take them!

The more time you can take off (well, 6 weeks is probably enough!) the better you will recover - and it's a gift to yourself. Rest and let yourself heal, and pamper yourself.

You could go back too soon and end up doing yourself some harm, or delaying your healing. And you may not feel anywhere near ready, anyway.

I often think to myself - what do these doctors really know?!! Have they experienced it? Many ladies also have had a lot of pain and bleeding for years before their hystos. and that must take it out of anyone.

Re: Going back to work

I say take the 6 weeks and tell your Dr. so he doesn't write a release for the two weeks. I was going to go back after two weeks also, but I'm telling him tomorrow I want 6 weeks, as I have Aflac also that will cover my income, so I am not going back a minute sooner-I deserve to recover=we all do without being rushed.
I find female coworkers the worst-esp ones who have it-tired of them saying it's a piece of cake, no big deal, etc. I guess they have forgotten!
