Re: Personal question

I do not have my cervix either. I also had a bladder sling. He said it doesnt feel bad but it is different. Nothing to hit at the end of the vagina. He was also able to tell if I was swollen or had spots of irritated tissues too. And no, it doesn't feel the same for me either. It is not bad but it is not the same.

Re: Personal question

Its the vagainal cuff. And yes, 8 wks is a long time but worth it. First time back you need to use lots of lube and control the penetration depth as yes, he could tear it, even after a few of months. You will want to be careful for a while and if any pain or bleeding occurs, stop and get checked. But if you go slow and easy for a couple of months you should be just fine.

Re: Personal question

From what I understand ...after they take my uteris and cervix out...the rest of you(bladder/intestines) can fall out if im not sealed in some way...vaginal cuff..they are going to sew closed the inside top of my vagina closed to prevent this...i hope I exlained it right

Re: Personal question

They sew the two cut ends together to reform the vaginal canal so that fluids such as sperm cannot enter the abdominal cavity, if this happens it can be quite painful and cause infection. Your intestines and such usually dont fall out this way. They could move south in many many years time but they dont really fall out. It's called a cuff because its sort of like the cuff of your pant leg so to speak.

Re: Personal question

I am having my TAH done Jan 9. Will see Dr. for pre op appt on Jan 5. I am reading alot on this site and writing down all the questions to ask Dr. I really have not clue what she is taking out but I told her to save my ovaries or one if she could. The closer it gets to sx date the more nervous I seem to be getting and wanting to cry...don't know why?? But the pain is getting worse and my stomach is so swollen. Anyway glad I found this site....
