Starting to get butterflies

Tomorrow is my day. I'm trying to get some last minute things done around the house, but I just can't seem to fine any motivation, and my stomach just keeps flip flopping every time I start to think about it. I just want to sleep!
The castle will call sometime today with my surgery time, and I know once I get that call I'm going to become an nervous wreck. Any advice on how to calm my nerves and get through today?

Re: Starting to get butterflies

No advice, but I'm going tomorrow too-and I feel exactly what you are describing-I just want to lay down and sleep the day away, but I am sure come tonight I wont be able to sleep! I have so much to do to, but spending time on here instead-best of luck and I'd love a friend to go through this with.
My show time is 5:15am tomorrow with surgery at 7:30am. I just hope I don't throw up from nerves between now and then-yikes-I've NEVER been this nervous about anything before and I'm betting you have not either-here is to us both doing well-hope to hear from you once we are both on the other side ((HUGS)).

Re: Starting to get butterflies

Good luck tomorrow! No advice on how to calm the nerves. I was a nervous wreck as well! I tried reading but that took way too much focus. Maybe try a totally pointless, thoughtless movie? Something funny? I know trying to make it through work the day before was torture. Once I got home I cleaned and that kept me busy for a while and kept my mind off things. I know it won't make your nerves any less but I had a TAH last Friday and it wasn't 1/2 as bad as I thought it would be! I was worried about the catheter being in and it was actually a God-send. Couldn't even tell it was there!

Re: Starting to get butterflies

You all will find that you pulled through this with ease, I too was scared as you both are, I never had surgery but once I arrived at hospital, the staff kept you busy and offered meds to calm me, the only concern for me was I did not want to feel nauseated afterward, they put a patch behind my ear before surgery and it was awesome, ask for one, it last the whole time I was in hospital, one overnight stay. I did fantastic I had 3 repairs as well a 6 hour surgery, ya I did say 6. I went home next day, and by day 4 I felt great, hang in there I wish you both well, hugs to you. Cat

Re: Starting to get butterflies

Tomorrow morning at 7 (Friday 16th). Tonight I'm going to relax the best I can, take a nice warm bath, listen to some music and meditate. My Dh is going to take his PC with, so he can do some work while he waits. Once I am done, and if I'm up for it, I will post.
