Estradiol .025 mg and Endometriosis

OK Sisters. I was not going to do the HRT because of Stage IV Endometriosis.......but I just couldn't take it anymore!

Doctor assures me that he got all of the Endometriosis out, and that is why I had the abdominal surgery.....so he could have a better 'view'. Also, after my surgery, he gave me a shot of Depo Provera. The Depo shot was to destroy any microscopic adhesions he may have missed.

I was not going to do any estrogen, but the night sweats are horrible. But, the thing that made me change my mind was my mood. I used to be a very happy person who loved to laugh. The last week, I have been ANGRY. It's not like me. I found myself being rude to strangers.

Saw the doctor today for my four week check up. Everything is going great, except for the mood swings and night sweats so the doctor suggested Estradiol .025mg. He said there were no studies that showed that when you used low dose Estrogen, there was a recurrence of Endometriosis. I'm really hoping he is right.

I was wondering if anyone else was on such a low dose, and how long it took to see improvement. I go back to work on Monday, and I'm really hoping to get a good nights sleep before then.

Re: Estradiol .025 mg and Endometriosis

I think you'll find that the 25 mcg of estradiol is going to work after having had no estrogen for a while. Thing is your body will probably adjust and you may find that it doesn't work anymore. You may have to go up. But for at least a few weeks, you'll probably feel pretty good.
