I have to wait 3 months after surgery. 3 months of complete rest. Ugh.

spunkyd....12 weeks???? yikes! I better quit whinning about my 8 weeks...lol! i know it is best to wait, to be safe, and not to tear up my surgery, or to hurt myself....it is going to be hard, but it will be worth the wait =) good luck to you!

I'm not just having a hysterectomy. I'm also having a prolapse repair - he'll attach the top of the vaginal canal to a point higher up on the sacral-uterine ligaments, thereby artificially shortening my stretched out ligaments. That's what is making my recovery period so long. It takes a long time to build up scar tissue around the ligaments.
