anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

TAH/BSO in 4/11. I have been on the patch, did not absorb. Then on the shot thinking estrogen was too low. Then levels were too high. I have been on compounded cream a few months now. I did well at first, but now I am having symptoms again. Chills, tingling all over, fatigue and shaky spells. I have the same symptoms for too high and too low. I also have severe endometriosis on bowels with recurring pain. Is there anyone that just cannot tolerate this type of HRT? If not, what are you taking, if anything for HRT? I have not been off of HRT since surgery, so not sure what symptoms I would have without anything. Any advice would be welcome.

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

It is possible the ert is causing your endometriosis to grow or irritating it. Has your doctor ever suggested using progesterone along with the estrogen? Some times progesterone can help when one has endo. That said; it you already know that you have endo on your bowels, it may not be a good idea to use any estrogen at all, bio or not. What does your doctor say?

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

A doctor is consulting with and endo specialist for me. Hope to hear from that this week. I am on compounded combination, but seems like it is still not the right dose. I just seem to have trouble with all forms of estriadol so far. Wonder if it was just my estrogen dropping after surgery though, and now might could tolerate a different format. On compounded Estrogen/progesterone/testosterone/DHEA.

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

Why are you using both DHEA and Testosterone? Are they all compounded in one cream? If so, I would ask for them to be separated.

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

Yes. That is what the pharmacist recommended based on symptoms. I definitely see that I need to separate them. Don't think I need all of that anyway! The doctor did not think so either. Can't wait to hear their recommendations. I am tired of the pain and not being able to eat. Now on a gluten free diet..

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

Just a thought since you said you felt good for awhile on your current method... You have progesterone in the cream along with the estrogen. Is it a fairly high dose? Progesterone, over time, tends to build up in the fatty tissue. Your symptoms almost sound like low estrogen with the chills, tingling, and shaking. I've noticed with some of the Dr.s (or maybe the pharmacists themselves) they seem to think that oral and transdermal cream dosages are interchangable. They're not! If it's in excess, it WILL build up.

My few months on the creams didn't go too well. Even on 2.5mg of Triest, my estradiol only hit 12 and I felt awful.

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

It is 1.25 biest/50progesterone/1mgtesterone/DHEA. Started lower due to estrogen being so high and endo. What are you taking now?

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

I use Vivelle Dot .075 and compounded vaginal troches .015 as needed. When I did the stint of compounded, I did NOT do well at all with the DHEA.

Re: anyone that cannot use biodenticals?

IMHO There really is no need for DHEA AND Testosterone. DHEA is a testosterone precursor. Did you test low in DHEA?
