Re: Nervous & New here

I am having surgery 12/28. It is 1:30am where I live... I am usually in bed by 10pm but my nerves are starting to get to me! I am having uterus and cervix out but leaving my ovaries since I had a blood clot 6 years ago and can not have hormone therapy. I too have endo and adenomyosis.

My biggest fears are that since I am leaving my ovaries, I could still have endo issues and have to have my ovaries removed afterall. I just turned 36, so I am hoping to keep my ovaries as long as possible to avoid surgical menopause. My other fear is also what sex will feel like. I am lucky to have a very understanding husband - we have been together for 17 years but I too have suffered from very painful sex and in the last year or so, my already "normal 10-12 day periods" have turned into more like 22-26 day periods. At this point I am not sure I remember what good sex/orgasams feel like, but I hope after enduring the hyst, it will be worth it! While I know the periods/bleeding will be resolved, I hope that sex is more enjoyable. My doctor believes that removing my cervix will eliminate the pain I experience with sex. I hope she is right!
