Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

I'm only 11 days out from a TAH with ovary removal and am still wanting sex. I know we can't for 7 weeks and I'm scared to but that doesn't change the fact. It's exciting and has to be better because the pain won't be there. I had endo everywhere, which is why the cervix and ovaries went. With the cervix being gone there won't be any pains from sex itself and no uterus means no more debilitating orgasms!!!! I'm so looking forward to no pain pills after sex!

I was scared to death about the surgery as well. Let the anesthesiologist know when you meet with them that you are really nervous/scared. They'll give you a lovely medicine in your IV and you really won't care anymore. The pain was pretty rough when I woke up but I have an 8 inch incision across my tummy. Make sure you ask about colace (I got a script from my doctor) and naseau after waking up. I tend to get naseaus with anesthesia so they gave me Pepcid in my IV before surgery along with Zofran. They also gave me Zofran when I woke up and Reglan (sp?) and Zofran throughout the night.

Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

See now the no orgasms thing concerns me. I have very intense one's and I kind of enjoy that. I'm at a total loss right now. I really don't want to lose that part.

Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

From what I've read you still have orgasms, they're just different. Not necessarily better or worse, just different.

Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

Different I can handle but gone......now that has me upset. I'm starting to think maybe the only part of this that I'm even worried about is sex after. I've come to terms with the organs being gone. I know its for the best. Is it totally crazy to only be upset with the idea that sex won't feel good anymore

Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

Charliedawn, think of it this way, sex with no pain, and no more bleeding to interrupt your sex life. Lube will be your friend at first, maybe even become a fun extra. I am so looking forward to sex once I am cleared.

If the boyfriend in insensitive, maybe it's time to consider a sensitive caring, will take care of you in all aspects MAN. Any man that is insensitive needs a good swift kick in the groin, farm girl style. (Hypothetically speaking of course ;-))

By the way, it's actually a bear trap. :-)

Re: scared doesnt even begin to cover it

Yea I'm really starting to wonder if maybe there could be another way...... maybe just searching for a way out because of fear. My issue is that its my cervix that is most directly effected and after 11 years id think if there was something else id know by now
