Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

Im scheduled to have surgery next tuesday, yes... in a week! I am kinda freaking out but at the same time, I know it is something that needs to be done to make my quality of life better...
I have been reading about bringing a pillow pet to the hospital... would a pregnancy pillow work too? I am not sure what to expect as far as the first night in... any help would be appreciated...

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I actually just used the hospital pillows, and they worked just fine. Others may have their own opinions and thoughts.

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I took my pillow and a stuffed animal. I slept with my pillow and used one of the ones already on the hospital bed to hold over my stomach the entire time. I used the stuffed animal between my stomach and the seat belt on the way home. I went and looked at the pillow pets but just couldn't pay $20 for something I wouldn't use for more than a week. The first night in I did nothing but sleep. I had the catheter in and the morphine pump. Drank water and sprite but didn't eat anything.

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I used the hospital pillows for both my head and tummy while I was there. I had my mini pillow pet in the car for the ride home. I paid less than $10 for my pillow pet since the store was having a sale. I found the mini one is a good size for me. A small throw pillow would work fine, maybe about 10 or 12" square.

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I took my own pillow for my head, just for the comforts of home. And for my belly I bought a mini pillow pet. It worked great! And, as a matter of fact, I'm still using it now for my recovery. It goes everywhere with me. Good luck and have a speedy recovery!!

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I bought a pillow pet unicorn from Amazon for $9. They also have some look-a-likes called cuddlee pets for about $6. Also could not see spending $20 for something I probably won't be using more than a week or so. HTH

Re: Pillows... which one is the best for hospital?

I took my own pillow bc I like soft pillows and I bought a mini bean bag pillow that hardly left my stomach. I was in the hospital 5 nights and having my own stuff helped lots.
