Re: 30 hours and all my bravado is gone

Kayla - I got on tonight to post my progress report over in the post op forum just for you.

I had the best anesthesia experience of my life. I was very open and honest about my concerns and fears and he did some very specific things based on my facts and my history and it was the smoothest waking up EVER.

I hope you can talk to your anesthesiologist and have a similar experience.

So here is a large lady smoker standing on the other side saying "I hope you won't be as afraid as I was because it all came together in the end "

Re: 30 hours and all my bravado is gone

Thank you so much for thinking of me Kay! I will peek over the wall at your post. Just a tiny update here, my surgery was canceled for Dec 26th. (Insurance company change over) So it looks like I will be re scheduled for some time in January.

Right now I am starting on all the changes I didn't think I would have time for. I cut my ciggies down from 20 to 10 a day using an e cig. Goal is no more real cigs by Dec 28th. I have also been cutting back my caffeine daily, goal is to be caffeine free by the 28th as well. I would rather suffer both withdraws at home.

I also seem to be in a relatively pain free part of my monthly cycle so I have started taking at least two short walks a day, even if I can only walk 5 minutes at a time. I need to feel better about my body before I go for surgery day.

Re: 30 hours and all my bravado is gone

You will be great Kay. I was terrified to have this surgery. I spent 2 weeks on sleeping pills and dropping weight cause I couldn't eat anything. Going under was so easy. I hope you a good experience with it. Recovery was good with all my nurses' help. Let them know your fears or pains and there's a med for that! Sending you good Zen and cyber hugs. I'll be watching for your posts post opt!
