Really rough day today (children mentioned)

Hi all,

I have had such an excruciating day today...my LSH is tomorrow and I've been all over the place emotionally.

I started off the day sending my SO an email (a LONG email), pretty much accusing him of cheating on me. I spent most of the day in bed crying, not knowing how the conversation would go when we got a chance to have a face to face about it.

My bleeding has been extremely heavy and clotty today, with a lot of cramping and pelvic pain, and the aleve I have isn't touching it.

It was my older sons' first day of winter break, and he had half a day. I sent the boys off to church early in the evening, and an hour later he came home with his foot mashed and bloody...we spent a few hours in the ER, the verdict: he broke his big toe on his left foot. He was helping the youth pastor move some heavy metal scaffolding which slipped and landed on his foot. He's going to be spending about the same amount of time in a medical boot as I will be spending recovering from my surgery tomorrow.

Thankfully before the kids got home from church I had a chance to talk to my SO about my email. He reassured me that he is NOT cheating on me, but admitted having feelings for a co-worker, which he is not and will not act on. I was a total mess during the conversation, and its the closest I've ever seen him to tears. I feel terrible about accusing him because I had no proof, only warning signs, but at the same time I think that if I hadn't called him out, he may have taken that irreversible step and actually cheated on me. He made promises to me, and I strongly hope that he meant what he said.

On the upside, I got to have a nice long talk with my mom, who lives just a little bit too far away to be here for my surgery tomorrow. She's a nurse, and is the most supportive mom in the world. She made me feel so much better about my anxiety over this surgery by reminding me that no matter how many other surgeries I've had, this one is a particularly important one for a woman. She completely validated me and it was the best phone call I've had in a long time.

Anyhow, I'm about ready to hit the hay. My surgery is at 12:30 tomorrow, and I have to sleep or I'll be tempted to eat.

Good luck to the other Dec. 22 Princesses, and bless you all for letting me vent.

Re: Really rough day today (children mentioned)

Best wishes to you. I was scared before my surgery and had the same procedure. I can understand the emotional feelings. I am a single mom with a 17 y/o at home. I kid you not that there were so Many obtacles the week before my surgery. I didn't get accomplished what I wanted. Let me tell you I am on theother side fot eh surgery and gong into week three. What you described above is normal and talking about it is the best thing to do. Forgive yourself and know that Your sisters here will be thinking about you.Praying for you . And pray your sons foot is better. Take care and look forward to seeing your recovery.
Good night. Your fellow hystersister. Paula
