3 week post op-new here

Hello, Everyone,

I am new to this site but I am grateful I found it! I am 34 years old and 3 weeks post op form a DaVinci assisted vaginal hysterectomy. I went back to the doc today because of a painful pulling sensation on my right side.( I still have both ovaries). They did a transvaginal ultrasound which freaked me out a little since nothing should be "up there" yet. They said it should be fine and the ultrasound was negative for abcess, however I am having a terrible time with constipation. Also my white blood cell count is high so antibiotics were prescribed. Has anyone else experienced any of this? Thank you all.

Las -

I am glad that you found the site. It can be very helpful during your recovery. Sorry to hear you are experiencing some challenges.

If you haven't taken stool softeners you may want to try that route, many Dr.s prescribe them after surgery. You can also check with your Dr. to see if it is okay.

I can't give you any advice on the white blood cell count but possibly another member will provide some insights.

There is a recovery progress thread for every week of surgery so you might look up the one for your surgery date, it is in the post-op forum. Make sure you get the right week, since there are threads for every week of the year.

Re: 3 week post op-new here

Welcome. feel free to check out the many post op topics and learn. Someone will answer you, I *think* that means you are close to a risk for an infection, that is why they put you on antibiotics-so you will be ok, but I am not a Dr., lol.

This is such a great place-I'm sure you will love it here. There is also a davinci only spot to learn, etc. I had Davinci too, but lost all my parts, I'm 10 days now post op.

Thank you ladies! Things seem to be getting a little better now except for the bit of post op bleeding. Thanks for your responses. It helps to talk with women that are willing to share experiences!
