TAH Itching all over body also breasts

Hi All,

I had a full abdominal hysterectomy November 29th. I expected the itching around the incision, but my breasts are itching like crazy and also all over my body. Also, I am concerned that I have days when I still have to take Vicodin. Should I be concerned? Is this normal?

My first thought is that you are reacting to some medication, since you said you have itching all over your body. (Personally, I was allergic to Vicodin and had to get off it.) Check with your doctor asap.

Sometimes narcotics make you itch like that. I have noticed that somedays I have the itching and somedays not. It still couldn't hurt to check with your doctor.

I itched like that on percocet. Could be a reaction to the vicodin. Call your Dr.

Argh! Itching is no fun!!! At the hospital, before surgery I was warned ahead of time that can happen with narcotics. Hope you fell better soon!

I am allergic to codiene. You can ask for something else or take benadryl.

I had a TAH on 11/28th. I also itch all over from head to toes. It seems to move from spot to spot. I have not taken any pain meds for 3 weeks. I have taken Benadryl around the clock as it seems to get worse as the day goes on. From other posts this is from the anethesia still in my system. Could take weeks-to months to clear up. I truly sympathize as there is times I can't sleep it is so bad. Keep drinking lots of water, use Benadryl, and Hydrocortisone cream.

I have developed a rash on the top of my right foot that itches like crazy! Last night I woke up itching my head & neck. Haven't take prescription pain meds for 3 weeks. Crazy body reactions!
