Almost 3 weeks post op

I had a vaginal total hysterectomy, gall bladder removed , and a bladder sling. The bladder sling was the worst as I went home with a supra pubic catheter for almost 2 weeks. Pain is gone, slight cramping since I started to drive a couple of days ago and have been Christmas shopping. Sleeping 12 hours a night and napping a lot. When I am up and around I get tired easily. My friend said my tiredness and sleepiness is from not doing anything. But other friends who had this surgery said they napped daily. I'm on short term disability for 6 weeks and have a desk job but can be stressful and at times need to work overtime. I was thinking of coming back after the holidays part time but I was told my paycheck would be delayed so that doesn't look possible. I have a second per dime job again desk job but I need to be released to go back after 6 weeks and that job can be more demanding. Trying not to feel lazy being off of work. how long will I be tired?

Re: Almost 3 weeks post op

I had a TAH and as for being tired, well I need to nap every single day. I find I tired easy and need the rest. Please dont return until you are ready as you really the rest sister. It is our bodies way to heal. and as I have heard so many times here, you only have ONE CHANCE TO HEAL. Please take the rest you need.
Merry Christmas,
Healthy healing.

Re: Almost 3 weeks post op

I'm taking my full 6 weeks off. This gal could be my future boss so I'm being careful, she is also a friend. No kids. She has no clue what I'm going through. I'm not doing any housework, have had 2 times for cleaning people. Had dinners made from one of those dinner places. Got a bonus before I left so put the $$ to take care of me. My husband has been awesome. I was a mess for 2 weeks. Have 2 kids in school, college kid home now and one older moving out after New Year.
I'm a RN and I know its time for me. I work a full time job and per idem at home but can be stressfull at times really due to my managers and clients . 2 weeks out I had to complete 5 presentations. I I'd most before LOA but they were due by end of year and just wanted them done, old not dump them on who was covering me. Plus don't want my raise and bonus affected. My per diem job I work holidays so I know my manager is not happy with me.
