Week 5 - pain is shifting

I had a TAHBSO on November 28th. The first week of recovery was horrible. I stopped the pain medication on Day 5 because the constipation was unbearable, and resorted to Tylenol and Advil for the pain.

At my one week follow-up the staples were removed. Once they were removed, the recovery progress went better than I ever could have anticipated. I'm convinced that my slow walks on the treadmill played a positive role.

At my three week follow-up, the doc prescribed Vesicare for the bladder spasms that I was experiencing.

The minimal pain I've been experiencing post-op has been concentrated at the incision site (bikini cut), but during the last two days, the pain has shifted "up" to the stomach area.

Is this common or should I be concerned?

Re: Week 5 - pain is shifting

You may not realize this but the muscles in your tummy were most likely separated under the skin up to your belly button. The muscles healing back together may account for the pain you are having now. However, if you notice any bulges, you need to contact your doctor asap.
