4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

I have not spotted since week 1 and today I am bleeding since I got up. It is blood and not discharge but isnt filling a pad yet. I am 4
weeks post op from TAH. I have cramos, too! What is up? Is this just the insides healing? I still have to take pain meds once a day and cannot take ibuprofen, so the cramps are better but present. Thoughts?

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

I would give the doctor a call. It could be your stitches on the vaginal cuff dissolving or it could be something else. Better safe than sorry. Please get back to us with what you find out. In the meantime, here is a in the hope it makes you feel a tad better.

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

Hey Tennessee - I'm in a similar boat. No bleeding other than slight spotting for weeks, and now I'm having episodes of very heavy flow. Been to GP in emerg who said this kind of bleeding usually self-resolves. Definitely recommend getting it checked out by your specialist...I will be heading back to see a doctor in the morning (there will be a gynecologist more readily available than at 5 am Christmas day!), but am getting pretty concerned. Keep us posted and best of luck with everything.

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

More than likely it is just your stitches dissolving... This usually happens around week 3-4... Take it easy my BF had a LAVH last year and she was feeling great... On her 3.5 week mark she went out in the yard to do a Lil work... She started passing clots and literally passed out... She is the one that has preached to me the no lifting rule... I know it has been Christmas and we all prob did a Lil more than we should have... Hows your insicison healing btw? I rem u was having a Lil trouble with it...

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

I should have listened to my body this morning. It has gotten worse with some pretty serious cramps now. I am going to try and hang in there until morning and call doc. I guess I have overdone it. As for incision, it isn't healed but it doesn't look any worse, I can count that as a success. Marathon not sprint....it is SO hard to remember that until you are lying flat on the couch trying not to get up for anything. Thanks for advice. I don't know how I would survive wo this site.

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

I am also 4 weeks post op and started bleeding again yesterday. I did have to have a 2nd surgery 10 days ago and had no bleeding afterwards until yesterday. The doctor said she did not find any internal bleeding and restitchedl my cuff. I have remained mostly inactive since the second surgery so I don't know why this is happening again. Besides the bleeding I have been feeling good. I am so frustrated and afraid this bleeding will never stop. I only have 2 weeks before I go back to work and hope it is resolved by then.

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

@ sarjes, you probably overdid it, too. I did too much and am paying for it with cramps, bleeding and overall aches that started yesterday. Bleeding is minimal now, but still feel horrible today. I worry about work, but I have had to let that go. I wanted to go back next week and doc laughed as my recovery has been slow and a bit complicated. The doc determines your release, so if you aren't ready, tell her/him. I chose Jan. 17 because that will be almost 7 weeks from my TAH and it should allow me more recovery. However, my doc said we will talk at next appt. on 1/11. If I am.not healed, no release. I cannot walk into work without the release. I have to listen. I struggle most days, too. Try to follow any active day with an inactive day. Hang in there.

Re: 4 weeks...bleeding and cramps

Tennessee70, Still bleeding tonight like a light period. Pretty much just sat on the couch all day. I am sure I am going to have to take at least an extra week off from work because I am definitely not healed. You hang in there too.
