finally have a date!

I got a letter for preadmission testing January 25th. I called and they said surgery is scheduled for Jan 30th. I asked her if she could make it sooner so she is calling the OR, and calling me back. I got a email to start a sweet girl i adore started on the stuff to get her here. I am so excited, but my Rwanda plans revolve around post op recovery. I would run to the OR today if i could. So much happeneing so fast and so slow!! Lets get this done!!! I cant miss more work before surgery, and my symptoms have been causing me too so much already. I want my life back, and to get to the next chapters awaiting me.

Not sure if having a date is better or worse for my nerves. But at least i can start planning more.

Re: finally have a date!

Sweetie, I understand the turmoil. But I think it is better to have a date that you know you can focus on and plan around instead of having something nebulous in the future.

Give yourself plenty of time to heal post-op.

(((Hugs))) to you.

Re: finally have a date!

Considering im planning international travel, im giving 10 weeks post op. (No complications in a third world country, please!) And also baggage, and being clammered by hundreds of orphans. (Have i mentioned i LOVE my life? I soooo do!) I hope i remember to put a chair by my bed and tonight realized i will need to put a extension cord on the end table so im not bending down to plug in my phone or kindle. Other than that i think im ready. Maybe too ready! I need more to do so i dont worry!!

Re: finally have a date!

I know it is a month away, but just try to keep yourself busy in the meantime.

What type of surgery are you having? Make sure your doc knows your plans so that you can be cleared for international travel in a 3rd world country. If I remember right, I think you said that was the case in a previous post.

The kids in your life are very lucky. The world needs people like you.

Re: finally have a date!

I am having ot LAVH. My doc knows my plans. Also the family i nanny full time for, the mom is a ultrasound tech in their office. So we kinda knew each other before this via my boss. Plus my last trip to 7 orphanages was in our local paper.

I see people on here say waiting is the hatdest. I believe they are right. I think time will go quicer next week when im back to work. Till then just trying to remember everything. Oh list making how i love thee! Hopefully my cycle (if you can call it that!) Stays low key. Christmad was horrid. But im just spotting now. But im not holding my breath as since Aug the longest reprieve i got was almost 2 weeks. Now 2 months of bleeding with a few day reprieve. Come on surgery day!!
