pre op visit

pre op visit today....surgery date getting closer. Getting more nervous. I was asked a strange question today from the anesthesiologist.......why did I choose the da vinci hysterectomy instead of the traditional laproscopic hysterectomy? Since the da vinci is more expensive and takes longer? He is curious what the benefit is that makes it better?? Anyone else have that question come up?

Re: pre op visit

What a strange question, but you never know what they are going to ask. For me, even though the pre-op nurse and I were discussing the surgery I was about to have, I had to verbally tell her that I was going to have a total hysterectomy and that I was going to loose my ovaries and tubes. She said that I was required to say it, and she had to hear it.

Don't worry about being nervous - it is very normal. This is a very big deal and major surgery. You are supposed to be anxious.

(((Hugs))) to you.
