Has anyone else felt like this?

Seems odd to ask this but I'm worried. I hope this is just part of it but I'm not sure. I feel a lot of internal pain. Plus I guess inside the vaginal canal is very uncomfortable. Don't really know how to explain it. Kind of like I have a tampon in wrong.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

Depending on what was done inside you, you could have a lot of inflammation and swelling. The uncomfortable vaginal canal is common in ladies who had their cervix removed. Make sure you keep up on your pain meds as you will heal better if you are pain free. Drink lots of water, eat well, rest a lot and walk as much as your body will let you (which means as soon as you get that heavy feeling at the bottom of your tummy, you need to go horizontal). I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

I had the same thing. In fact, 10 weeks post op I still have internal pain and heaviness (just way less severe then the first 6 weeks). I have learned that it is my body telling me to get horizontal :-)

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

Having a lot of internal pain, is, I'm afraid, just totally normal at such an early stage!
And when you think what has happened to your insides and all the stitches that went in during a fairly long operation, and especially if you had your cervix removed, then, yep, it causes pain, all right, but they don't always tell you how much to expect in the hospital!! Do they even know?? WE do!!

Be assured that everything you are feeling is OK to be feeling.
That tampon-in-wrong feeling - if you had your cervix removed - is the pain from your vaginal cuff wound. That part - in my experience - took longer to feel comfortable than anywhere else. Weeks and weeks. It may not be that way for you and others, though.
Healing from this major surgery is a long marathon, and not a sprint.
But any scary pain you should check out with your doc. Just trust your gut as to what is not right, or run it past the ladies on this forum first!
The pain does go. I had almost no pain by the third month after a TAH/BSO, and at 4 months I feel like my old self and can do anything... well, just haven't got back into cycling to work, yet!

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

Thank you ladies for the responses. Yes I did have my cervix removed and I'm 9 days post op. No they don't tell you what to expect. Gave me lots of warning signs though.
I feel a lot worst than I imagined I would. My hubby says he thinks I'm doing better than he thought I would be by now. I really am so thankful for this group.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

Don't have that kind of pain. Mine is mainly the bowls. Although at almost 3 weeks the pain has diminished quite a bit.
Just have a little pulling sensation in abdominal area. Nothing major though.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

I can relate: it's like I can feel my vaginal stitches and the swelling. It feels odd painful, very unnatural. I am 12days post op. Just thinking about it makes me shutter.

Re: Has anyone else felt like this?

I am 5 weeks from surgery today. I have had that feeling since the very beginning. The first week or so I felt like i had a tampon right at the entrance of my vagina. I actually got out a mirror several times to look and see if I could see anything but never did. I went to see the doctor at week two because I was so worried about it...she said I was healing fine. Now it seems like the tampon felling is higher up....but still there. I assume (hope) that it is just the cuff and it is going to take a while.

I think the internal "issues" are just a scarier thing for us because we can't "see" what's going on. Wish I had a web cam up there so I could monitor whats going on!!!
