My body getting its revenge !!

So had my SAH 4 weeks ago and have been 1 of the lucky ones in that it was a "simple" surgery to remove many large fibroids.
There has been no pain, no spotting and felt almost back to 95% the first week back until yesterday, the day I was meant to start my period ...
Oh my word, I know I have not been over doings things (lying on couch eating so can only assume the most extreme pain I have felt in the last 4 weeks was monthly cramping ....
Sadly I never had period pains pre-surgery so its as if my body has decided to show me who is boss by punishing me for removing my uterus !!
They are gone again today so I am pretty sure thats what the pain was but so much for thinking I was in charge
I am going to make sure when I see the Dr for the first time on Tuesday for my sign off but does that sound about right for pains that came and went for a day and then were gone when I woke up?

Re: My body getting its revenge !!

I had a TAH on the 7th Nov, and like you felt no pain following surgery.
At about 6 weeks post op, I felt extreme pain in my pelvic floor area, so intense that I didn't dare move. I thought if I tried to get up all my insides would fall out.
I knew I had not done anything to damage myself so I decided that it must be cramp from healing. It was more intense than any period pains I have ever had before. The more I tensed up against it, the worse it got.
I tried pelvic floor exercises, scrunching up the pelvic floor muscles and relaxing them again. It took my breath away at first, but after about 10 minutes the pain eased off, and then went away altogether.
I don't know whether that might help you.

Re: My body getting its revenge !!

Thank you, glad to hear other had pain futher down the line and it didn't turn out to be anything ripped etc? It lasted all day no matter which pain killers I took and wasn't consistent, came in waves. Will keep a note of the day and see in 28 days time, maybe period cramping and healing just make for intense pains !!
