8.5 weeks post-op and have a burning/jabbing pain when I stand

My recovery (vertical TAH) has went very well. For a few weeks after surgery, when I would stand or walk some I would have what seemed like burning/jabbing pains a few inches below my belly button, to the right and left, not center. This seemed to get better, but for the last 2 weeks or so, my right side burns anytime I stand for a minute or longer. It does not hurt sitting. I don't know if I've pulled something or what is going on. I don't understand why this pain would not be getting better by now.

Anyone have any thoughts on what this could be? I mentioned it a week and a half ago to the doctor at my checkup and he was not concerned. He said it is the healing process. The pain is worse now than when I saw him. I wish I knew what exactly it was.

Re: 8.5 weeks post-op and have a burning/jabbing pain when I stand

I had the same thing and I think it has something to do with the ligaments and the healing phases. It would put me back down in the chair even after I had been up and healing better. I couldn't stand more than a couple minutes and really couldn't walk. I remember it lasting at least a week that bad and then off and on. Just take it easy and realize that there was a lot of work done in there including things being moved around. All that has to heal and adjust and it does really happen in weird phases.

I understand it is very hard when you are feeling better but you probably need extra time in the recliner until this phase passes.
