6 weeks post op and miserable

i'm six weeks post op and my recovery has been slow mainly due to the fact that I do too much. I had my menopause 15 years ago at age of 30 but i feel so miserable, moody and tearful after my op and don't understand why has my ovaries have long since stopped working. Anyone else feel like this?

Re: 6 weeks post op and miserable

Sorry to hear you're feeling so miserable. I have been shut down by different meds for the last 2 years. I feel sad about things that's never bothered me before. Oh and the hot flashes are even worse. I guess its just the shock to our bodies. It will get better so I hear. Good luck and I hope it gets better soon

Re: 6 weeks post op and miserable

You are not alone!!! It is very common even though your ovaries have not worked for a long time. There is a lot of stress on your body during a surgery like this and some people forget that there is emotional stress as well. You have just been through major surgery and are still fairly early in your recovery. This will pass!! You just need to give yourself time to mental heal just like you need to physically heal.

And you shouldn't be doing too much either!!! It is still early, so take it as easy as possible so that you can recover more quickly!! This is time for YOU, so take it and take care of yourself.

Sending you and wishing you the best of luck in your recovery. I hope you start feeling much better very soon.
