how do you replace estrogen?

how are you able to go without replacing the function of your ovaries? They were there for a reason, how long has it been since your TAH? how many years? I had a TAH as well and I went to a holistic doctor. I was prescribed Drenamin and Natural progesterone(stops hot flashes) Your adrenal glands do what your ovaries use to do, produce estrogen, thank God he put them there as a back up. i guess he knew women would have this ovary problem. Therefore, I take an adrenal gland booster called Drenamin, found at Whole Foods. Also take a natural progesterone called Prolief. This way I get my combination of estrogen and progesterone still like my ovaries use to produce. If not after a while your vagina walls will start to thin and sex will be painful. Of course I also eat a very well balanced diet, lots of fish, fruits, and nuts, foods that have natural estrogen effects, soy milk etc.

Re: Endometriosis found during surgery, questions Lupron or progestin after BSO

To Gardenias:
You asked, "how are you able to go without replacing the function of your ovaries? They were there for a reason, how long has it been since your TAH? how many years? Well, my response is that it is a very individual decision for each patient. Right now, my decision is no HRT. I have too many health risks. My hysterectcomy was November 22, and I was already having horrible sweating and hot flashes before my surgery. I am 51, and I had a LATVH with BSO and bladder sling. So far so good. We'll see how it goes...
