3 weeks post op tlh having severe pain

Had a tlh on 12/12 spent 3 days in the castle. when in the castle found out that surgeon had to separate my bladder from my uterus and my uterus from my stomach and so on. surgery lasted an extra 1 1/2 hours due to all of the scar tissue on the inside. from all the scraping was told i was going to be sore for a while, but i started feeling really good after about a week. i haven`t been over doing it or anything, but this past week i have been feeling really weak, like i am achey all over like i have the flu. i also have a lot of lower back pain and it seems like everytime i get up i feel dizzy. also i have been having a lot of pain shooting from my naval to my c-section incision when i didn`t have it before. anyone else had this problem? i see the surgeon tomorrow for my postop appt but i am also wondering if i should wait that long.

Re: 3 weeks post op tlh having severe pain

Only you know if you feel bad enough to go to ER. It does seem like something is going on. Possible infection? I'm just guessing, but it is good you go to DR. tomorrow. Please keep us posted with what is going on and good luck.

Re: 3 weeks post op tlh having severe pain

I did have a repair surgery 3 weeks post op. But, I would say if you are having any unexpected pain after feeling well then go to the ER. Better to be safe than sorry. I felt crummy and then within days was passing tons of clots. Just don't wait. Please take care!

Re: 3 weeks post op tlh having severe pain

Sorry to hear this....I am 15 days post op and have the same symptoms. My surgeon examined me today and said the flu like symptoms is normal. I was running a low grade fever and the doctor prescribed an antibiotic after a ct scan and ultrasound. No signs of infection was found. She said that I should start feeling better any time.

I've been feeling this way too yesterday and today. I'm just trying to drink lots of water, take my Advil on schedule, eat and rest. I'm not fevered at all, just feeling like crap.

Let us know what the good doc says!

Re: 3 weeks post op tlh having severe pain

Sorry to hear about your pain. I had my TLH on Dec. 19th and feel good off and on but yesterday, I too had a shooting pain thing going on but mine was a bit higher, starting between the breastbone and then shooting towards the c-section pelvic region. Happened off and on and then just went away so I will just chalk that up to the healing process BUT should it happen again, I won't mess around and will get it checked pronto.

I am still tired and weak. I am having just the hardest time going to get a couple things at the store and I'm ready to nap. My "mind" wants to do all these things that my body just is rebelling against still. Frustrating. Just a shower and sloppy makeup job and maybe blowdrying my hair, and I am wiped out! I can do a bit more around the house, and the stairs are no issue anymore. I clean a lot to pass the time. LOL Tired of t.v. and reading. Going stir crazy. But living in a small town, I would have to drive 25+ miles to get to "the city" to do anything, and I tell ya, I am just not up for that at all yet.

My surgery lasted a couple hours longer than expected, too, due to some of the same reasons you had. I left the next day, which in hindsight may have been too early, I don't know. I felt good (but I didn't know it was still all that morphine in my system! LOL).

Let us know what you find out. Good luck!
