Can't sleep

Hi there! I am 42 & 5 weeks postop. I started 1mg estrace day 4 & was ok with it. Some body aches & fatigue & headaches but that could just have been healing. My doc just changed me to premarin 0.9 to see if it may help, because it has testosterone & is easily dose adjusted. But my bottle reads only premarin 0.9, not the usual slash/other drug name & dose when you have a combination drug product. I wonder if I got the wrong stuff? I looked it up and there is a formula w T but it's called something different than plain premarin. My biggest question is this-why the heck am I awake?! And I wake with awful headaches & have it throughout day. It's only been 4 days but both of these issues are new. I never struggled
with insomnia on the estrace--but I took that mornings. Doc told me night
is best so I've changed the time. And the headaches I had before were nit this bad. It's 430 am and I've been up since 3. Can't call doc til Monday. Anybody have any insights? I'm trying to gear up to go back to work, and I don't want to be feeling like this! Thanks!

Re: Can't sleep

Premarin is a form of estrogen replacement. Sounds like that is what your doctor prescribed for you. There are many different forms of estrogen replacement. There is no right or wrong.

You are still early post op. It can take some time for your body to recover from surgery and for the hormones to settle.

Unhappy - Can't sleep Re: Can't sleep

I know how you feel! I dread...actually dread going to bed bcuz I realize that I will have another night of restless/dozing in and out night againg. I slept great the first few nights but, when I was in Ohio over the holidays I began to not fall asleep after an hour or two or not fall asleep at all and when/if I did go to sleep, I can't stay asleep because I keep sinus drainage for some reason since I came home from the hospital 12/22/2011. I keep a bottled water at my bed, I suck on a throat drop and still I have a night of Hussain sleeplessness (better not say the other word) . If you have any ideas, help me out!
