Vivelle Dot..how do you keep the patch on?

To those that use the Vivelle dot, how do you keep your clothes from pulling on the patch? When I was home recuperating from surgery it was no big deal but now that I am wearing more normal clothes I find they catch on the patch and I have to press it back down. Any suggestions? Does it come off with exercise? I have not been released to work out yet but I am looking forward to doing so soon.

Thank you!

Re: Vivelle Dot..how do you keep the patch on?

I've had to troubleshoot keeping the patch on. What I find has helped is cleaning the area with alcohol wipes before applying the patch. I have also used waterproof adhesive tapes sold OTC under the Nexcare brand or another one called tegaderm which is an adhesive clear waterproof patch that can go over the vivelle patch.
If I use alcohol wipes and adhesive tape, the vivelle patch has never come loose for me.

Thank you! I did read somewhere to use alcohol wipes but the tegaderm is an excellent idea!

Re: Vivelle Dot..how do you keep the patch on?

I bought 100 tegaderm patches at amazon.com for 50.00. I have been exercising vigorously, showering and so forth, and have not had any issues. This system is giving me great confidence. Havent tried swimming yet but feel like I definitely could.

Good luck

Re: Vivelle Dot..how do you keep the patch on?

Where are you putting the patch?
I put the patch on my upper and middle back and I alcohol the area first and when the alcohol is dry, then I have my husband put the patch on and press it down firmly from center to edges. My patches stay on so well that I have to yank them off. I, too, had problems when I tried to put them on my hip and buttocks areas, now that I changed locations, no issues. Just don't put them on your breasts, but u can even put them on your upper chest next to your shoulders, bra straps don't usually mess with them on the front, and remember to change locations each time you put one on. Good luck, I hope this helps!!
