can hyperplasia get better or go away?

diagnosed w/complex hyperplasia, no atypia. rec'd hyster, have 2nd opinion appt in a few days. scanning thru a lot of these posts and kind of got the impression a time or two that sometimes hyperplasia can get better or even go away w/o treatment. i'm not considering *not* getting treatment, and pretty much ready for a hyster (just waiting to see 2nd doctor), but for example, i've read instances where the original endo biopsy said hyperplasia, then had a hyster, and said not there, or was simple instead of complex, etc. just curious - thx!

Re: can hyperplasia get better or go away?

I am one of the cases that had hyperplasia without atypia (the simple one) according to my biopsy presurgery. After one period brought on by taking provera it cleared up according to my pathology report post surgery.

It is my understanding that hyperplasia can be treated and go away as long as there some sort of treatment. It's not a guarantee though. I can stay around or progress.

I decided not to even bother with treatment since I didn't want to deal with horrible periods (clotting, pain, heavy bleeding) during treatment. I just wanted to be done with it all and get rid of the problem all together. I don't have to worry about cancer, periods, possible pregnancies, etc. Having surgery and dealing with the discomfort for a while is totally worth it IMO.
