Re: NERVOUS---Having second thoughts...

I'm scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I have been scheduled many times before and canceled after becoming too scared. I used to read everything I could, because I wanted to make sure I was doing the right thing. I worried that my sex life would be gone and that I could suffer from many of the other complications. I have lived in pain for years and have tried so many other options.
A little over a week ago I was diagnosed with a fibroids that had passed thru my cervix. Basically I have given birth to it. My dr was said that it is rare, but that I was basically in labor all the time and that is why I was in so much pain. He told me that this time I had no choice I had to go to the or. My only choice was did he try and save my uterus by just taking the fibroids or do the full hysterectomy After testing they found that had even more fibroids, so the decision was made to do the hysterectomy. I feel better in a way now that I don't really have a choice. I have decided this time to only stay on the pre op board and pray for the best results. I am a person who stresses very easy and since i have no choice I am trying to just get ready. My dr is glad that I chose the full hysterectomy because he said that with the condition of my uterus and that infected fibroid my chance of having just the fibroid removed was very risky due to bleeding.
I know that if I wasn't backed into this corner I would be second guessing myself, but I have let it go too long and now I'm in so much pain I'm looking forward to Tuesday. I am so thankful that I went to the dr last week, because without this surgery I could bleed out or go septic soon. I have my family to live for.
Be good to yourselves and listen to your bodies. You will know when you are ready. Don't get me wrong I'm really scared and cried just this morning, but I'm more scared of doing nothing and dying than having my daughter know that I did everything I could to get better
