RE: fibroids and back pain, acne and headaches

I'm a Lady in Waiting and new to this site... Date for hyst is 1/22/02... I was wondering if anyone out there has had severe lower back pain with fibroids. I've studied, and read that it is very common, but haven't seen it mentioned much in the posts I've read here...

I'm also suffering from newly-developing acne (age 39?) and headaches (never used to get them). My dr. says that the fibroids steal hormones, and possibly all these symptoms will go away. Everyone I talk with that has had a hyst - feels better afterwards, but I'm still nervous...

Thank goodness we're done with our family, eight - yes eight healthy, wonderful children (ages 18 down to 2). Thankful that these problems developed now instead of earlier.

Turning 40 next year - feeling it these days...bummer!

Thanks for all the uplift from all of you HysterSisters!

back ache - yes yes yes

Pre op, each day I was waking up with back pain. Each month I had chronic back pain for 3-4 days. Guess what? Now at 19 days post op - I have not had back pain once. I didn't have headaches or acne, but the size of the fibroids were also upsetting my bladder, bowels and making my left leg numb each month.

Now I am slowly getting back to normal. Everything is fine except the bladder. But even that is getting better each day.

All the very best wishes for your surgery.

Back Pain

Yes I had horrible back pains. Like a horse had kicked me. I would also have sharp pains in my sides. It didn't matter if I was having my cycle or not. I do recall a lot of headaches and nausua. I swear that my hormones were so messed up that I'm not sure what normal is. I can hardly wait for the healing to be done.
God Bless,

Lower back pain

I get lower back pain too but no one has ever said it was because of my fibroids. I am scheduled for surgery Jan 30, 2002 and am still concerned if I'm doing the right thing. I am having the surgery mainly because of fibroids- 1 being the size of an orange and because of a thickening on my cervix.
