Re: Anyone else excited?

I was thrilled to be able to have a hysterectomy! I didn't want children and hated the periods even though I rarely had them. I hated worrying if I was going to start or if I was pregnant even though the possibility was slim. I have always been anti surgery unless it was life or death EXCEPT for a hysterectomy. I have always been all for getting rid of my girly parts since I had/have PCOS too.

Re: Anyone else excited?

Thank you KimT, your post bought a smile to my face! My nerves are shot right now! for the last few weeks i've been worrying about all the bad that can go wrong. I should be thinking about no longer having the month long heavy periods and the awful pain!! Again I thank you!! I really needed to read that!! See you on the other side!!

Re: Anyone else excited?

Yep! Me, too! Before the surgery, my biggest fear was the surgery would be postponed for some reason. I waited a long time for it and was SO excited when it drew near!

Funny thing.....right before reading this post, I was telling my husband how GREAT I feel 6 weeks post-op and what a wonderful thing to wake up in the morning feeling good and know I'll feel that way all day (no surprise aunt flo visitation nightmares).

It really is liberating! So, now, I'm excited for you!

Best to you in your journey!

Re: Anyone else excited?

I couldn't wait for mine to happen. I actually begged for my surgery to be sooner and actually got the date moved up by 5 weeks. That still wasn't soon enough for me but waiting 5 weeks for surgery was much easier than having to wait 10. I remember being in pre-op and them all asking me if I was nervous and how surprised they were when I said no. It's a good thing I was so excited because I am not sure my hubby could have supported me if I'd been nervous. He was nervous enough for both of us! Your positive attitude will serve you well in your recovery. Good luck in surgery and recovery.

Re: Anyone else excited?

I'm excited but I'm extremely nervous because my doctor has no clue what's going on inside my uterus due to it being sealed/fused shut. So that part of me is terrified, but on the other hand, I'm so excited to move on with my life, get off the pain merry-go-round and not have to plan my weekends around AF!!!! And of course I say excited two weeks before surgery, in 13 days, I'll be a wreck, I'm sure!!!
