Dreams (kids mentioned)

I have two wonderful children age 7 and 11 and one angel baby who didn't make it to the second trimester. For years, DH and I TTC to no avail and when my children got older, I lost that desire for more children. I mean, I am 30, my kids are older, my husband's career is taking off and I am about to go back to college full time and start working on my career that has been on hold while supporting him. Babies are nowhere in the picture so having this surgery and losing the prospect of more babies hasn't really bothered me. I mean, I have been infertile for almost 6 years and have gotten used to the idea years ago that I would not have any more natural born children. But lately I have been dreaming every night that I'm pregnant. I wake up and go "no way!" and am glad it was just a dream because well, that isn't what I want but is this maybe just my subconscious coming to terms with the surgery? It could be the hormone pills I'm on too, lol but I hope this stops. I don't need second thoughts creeping up as I approach this so is anyone else preop and dealing with dreams like this who is also, like me, not wanting more children? Just curious..

Re: Dreams (kids mentioned)

The subconscious is a strange thing and dreams even stranger.

I'm 47, have no biological children and gave up on that hope years ago due to health reasons, but I had a vivid dream I was pregnant and then gave birth to kittens. (I have been involved in feline rescue for a while). I don't even have hormone pills to blame.

Hey Avian... dreams are so interesting. It really is about what pregnancy means to you. Sometimes in a dream, pregnancy can mean "new beginnings". - Perhaps a new business, a new way of thinking of things. etc. Anything else in your life you are thinking of changing?

Re: Dreams (kids mentioned)

We are moving from Britain to Virginia in 6 months, my husband has a new job he's starting in the military, I plan on losing 50 lbs and going back to college to finish my degree. Everything is changing! I guess I am just scared that subconsciously I wasn't ready for the hyster and secretly wanted more children. I did a few years ago, but I passed that point in my life and chose different goals. What you both say makes sense.

Wow. Those are a lot of changes. So, that can be what the pregnancy is about. They all sound good, too. A move, a loss of weight (and lots of energy as a reward), military change and college. It sounds pretty exciting.
