I Got My Life Back

Monday will be 6 weeks for my LAVH. Terrible case of adenomyosis (awful bleeding, anemia, cramps, etc. were the symptoms). For several years I put off family events, vacations and future plans simply because I could not physically push through the pain and bleeding long enough to do anything. I was one of the women looking forward to surgery as a hope to ending all that.

Yesterday, as I was getting ready for my day (dressed in my jeans!) and thinking about all the things I was going to do, it suddenly hit me!

I FEEL GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!! I won't EVER have to go through that other stuff again!!!! I can DO things in life!

I have had several people tell me (at work - I went back 2 weeks ago) that I look great and YOUNGER! I feel it, too. Must be all that blood that stays in my body now.

I'm still being cautious about the lifting and bending, but that is the ONLY thing I think about - otherwise, I can't even tell I had surgery! (except of course how much better I feel)

I'm so grateful to have relief and to feel better and I'm hoping there are others that found a similar relief. I'd love to hear your successes.

p.s. this site was a MAJOR help through the journey. My husband also thanks you sisters for your support - it helped him, too!

Re: I Got My Life Back

I'm glad you are feeling so good!

Even though I'm still sore and get tired easily I feel much better too. I felt a little worse the first week or so after surgery than I did before surgery but now I'm very close to what it was like before. I know I'm not close to being done healing and look forward to feeling good again.

Re: I Got My Life Back

Life changing. My surgeon told me the morning after my surgery that my life would change. I chalked that up to the standard DR speech. Nope. I'm amazed at how great I feel. I'm 12 weeks out from an everything out da Vinci. Everyone comments on how good I look-happy, smiling, trim(I've lost almost 25lbs post op). I went out the other night with the girls and looked at myself in the mirror; I had color in my lips!!!! No more anemia. I'm very happy.
