Re: Whats your best advice?

I got my normal sized panties but i just got ones that went up to my waist so the waist band doesn't rub again my incision. Also, a cane has been helpful. I'm a little unsteady on my feet with being bent over and all from the incision soreness.

Re: Whats your best advice?

My best advice would be:
1. Ask for a Valium or Xanax to take the morning of your surgery. This was a life saver for me! I was calm and not nervous at all!
2. Pillows, pillows, pillows, and more pillows! I went to Ikea and bought a bunch of pillows so I'd be ready. I had 2 under my head, two up against my left side, and 2 up against my right side. The first few notes at home they helped to keep me on my back. After a couple nights, I pushed one under my side and was able to sleep on my side. This was a big help!
3. Drink gallons of water and walk around as much as possible!
4. Go to bed early every night. I'm almost 7 weeks post op and I still go to bed every night at 8:00 pm. My dr told me the more sleep you get the faster you will heal. She suggested 2 Tylenol PMs at bedtime.
5. Don't push yourself too much, but try to set little goals. I had a LSH with BSO, and by week 4 I felt really good!
6. Think positive thoughts, pray, and laugh A LOT!!! 🌻

Re: Whats your best advice?

Buy a heating pad.
Have Miralax and Gas X at home.
Small healthy things to eat like bananas, yogurt, cottage cheese.
Pillow to put between your knees while you sleep on your side.
Moist toilet wipes for when your bowels finally get moving.
Record or PVR lots of shows to watch. I didn't feel well enough to read so TV was it for me.
I bought a pretty nightie that was also modest to live in during my recovery. I couldn't handle anything around my waist for a couple months.
Good luck!
