Re: Any good advice?

Endodaisy!!!

Glad you made it through surgery and I hope your recovery is going well so far. I do have a few tips that can make your recovery go smoothly

1. Make sure you are walking a lot...not a lot at a time, but several short walks throughout the day. This helps keep your body from getting stiff and sore from laying down resting. It can also help with gas pains and aid in getting your bowels moving again.

2. Drink plenty of water

3. Follow all of your 's orders completely and carefully

4. Take your medication on a schedule....stay ahead of the pain

5. Don't try to rush recovery. It takes time. Initial healing time is 4 to 8 weeks, but it can take up to a full year to be completely healed.

6. Ask for help. The only thing you need to be worrying about is you and your recovery. So don't be afraid to ask your family for help doing the things you cannot do right now.

7. Call your doctor with any concerns. That is what they are there for.

8. Visit your here often. There are so many wonderful women here. We have all been where you are and we are here to help.

Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest!! This is YOU time, so make the best of it and heal well!!!

Re: Any good advice?

All the above advice and also to R-E-S-T above all else-don't think you are being lazy or not recovering fast enough. Oh, and walking is important to control gas/bowels, and also helps healing.

Come on here whenever bored-someone is always on here and it helps so much-I never would of managed without everyone on here myself.

Within the next two more weeks you will be amazed and how far you will come along-I feel more human this week (I'm 4 weeks)

Welcome to our side!
