Re: Meeting with my doctor next week to schedule a da vinci hysterectomy...and.

I also had a DvH that was pretty complicated due to bowel and bladder issues with removal of endo. It went well. And getting freaked out before it is normal. I did too. The thing that really helped me was to keep saying I will be fine, constantly being busy, and also telling everyone how scared I was of the anesthesia. IT worked out for me. And just know we are here.

Hi Charlie 2012 Try not to worry about being put under , I worried about that too and again it was all for nothing I dont even remember being put to sleep the anesthesiologist is very well trained I usually get sick after so I asked for meds to prevent that and I was not even queasy on waking up it was wonderful , the other ladies are right stay busy before the surgery I even waxed all my floors LOL!!! And guess what ? It was a nice treat to come home to clean shiny floors after my stay in the "castle" - chin up Sister it is all going to be fine you will be amazed at how well you feel just a few days post-op the DaVinci rocks !!!!!

Hey Charile, You will be fine. See if the dr. has a DVD about the DaVinci operation. I think everyone has covered everything about what to do before and after the DaVinci.

By the way I went back to work on February 1 and tomorrow if will be one month since my Davinci.

Don't be afraid to call the dr. when you have questions after the DaVinci

Re: Meeting with my doctor next week to schedule a da vinci hysterectomy...and.

I had the DaVinci,

You will experience some pain around your abdomen and incisions, constipation, gas and fatigue. If you are the type of woman who is use to doing everything (or a lot of things), you will go through a bout of .. "I want to ... " but can't b/c you need to care for yourself. You will start to 'fell better" about 2 weeks in and want to push yourself to do more but you will pay for it, with pains in places you weren't sure you had places.

Hi Charlie..

I am Da Vinci post op 4 days now. Had my surgery 1/31/12..

So far I have some gas pains and some light surgical pains at my incision points. I get tired easily but have started with insomnia.

I was petrified of surgery. Cried all the way there and up until I was put out by the doctor. Waiting is one of the hardest parts. The other is getting use to allowing others to help us.. So far so good. A few bumps in the road but nothing I cant handle.. Best wishes to you
