Extremely Tired

Its 5 months since my TAH, I am on vivelle dot 0.5 mG and I had energy up to now but now I am beat. I can barely make it thru my day at work, I wake up tired, they cant give a higher does because that can bring on more endometriosis. Is this what menopause feels like. I have a lot of energy sometimes and none at all at times. I do have a hectic job but this feeling isn't good, Vivelle tones down the hot flashes, I barely get them now but what else can I take for energy.

Re: Extremely Tired

I'm sorry to hear you are not feeling well!! My two cents: I recommend you get your thyroid checked. And not just a TSH test, but also Free T4 and Free T3.

I felt good for the first 4-5 months after my hyst, then crashed. It took another 6 months to reach a diagnosis of hypothyroidism. There is SO much more to underactive thyroid than just weight issues.

Estrogen has a definite effect on thyroid hormones.

Good luck, and please keep us posted!

Re: Extremely Tired

Thanks for your response, I already get the thyroid checked every 6 months because my mom had thyroid and right now it is completely normal so its just menopause I guess, I am going to see my internal med doc today to do a checkup anyhow because I am sore by the incision and it got red and it never did before.
