Re: Is it better to leave my ovaries in or get them out?

My Dr took the if it isn't broken don't take it approach. I had RSO and ablation in Oct. SAH in Dec. Because there were no health indications for removing my left ovary, I kept it. My ovary is doing a great job. I am still "cycling" and have plenty of estrogen. (No lube needed here.). If in the furture there is an issue, I will deal with it then. The future can be a long time. :-). I haven't had a drop of blood since surgery, and at 6 weeks post-op feel good most days.

Best of luck with your decision and surgery.

Re: Is it better to leave my ovaries in or get them out?

I think there is still a post pinned to the top of the board about a study you can participate in. As part of the study you visit a website that has info about keeping or taking out your ovaries. It is very informative and helped me make up my mind.

I have no family or personal history of ovarian, cervical, or any other cancer so I chose to keep mine.
