Re: Waiting making me insane.

Just wanted to chime in and say you are not alone! The waiting game is driving me insane!! I have a confirmed mass in my rectus abdominal muscle and an am having it and a TAH/BSO performed. It is taking forever to get it all set up which is driving me nuts. I had a 17 month old and a 4 yr old and need a little bit of time to get peoples schedules worked out ot help while I'm in the hospital. I am not overly concerned that my mass will be anything other than beign b/c I have had two removed from the abdominal wall already and they were both endometrioma's. The pain and symptoms of this one, altough worse, are right on par for what the others were. Good look to you I just wanted to share in your frustration.

Thanks all for the support. It does help to see your not the only one with these emotions. I have to see my gyn/onc on Monday afternoon to go over all the results so far: ct scan, ca125, pap smear. So Im nervous but Ill get through it. My Preop is on Feb 8, and my last work day is Feb 10. As stuff happens Ill post about it, it feels good to share.

This is a great place to talk about how you are feeling about this wild ride. There will always be people who will understand how hard it is, and who will remind you that, as women, we have this amazing strength. When we work together, that strength is multiplied! Keep us posted.

Re: Waiting making me insane.

Met with the gyn/onc today for the last time before surgery on Feb 14. My CT came back good, nothing else seen except what was on the vag ultrasound. My CA125 was 115, but my period started 2 days after it was taken so they didn't seem too concerned. Ive have been such a wreck though, my BP was 164/102, so I got sent home with a script for Ativan. My doctor was very patient and answered every question I had, all 2 pages of them. It did help calm me down. Got the bowl prep too, its not so bad, one bottle mag cit, an enema at bedtime then in the AM, clear liquids day before. NPO after midnight. So 2 weeks to go
and its off to the castle.

Re: Waiting making me insane.

Surgery got pushed a day later, so no more Valentines Day surgery for me. Had my preop at the hospital. It was unsettling to sign the consents and actually read all that was possible: cancer staging, exploratory laporectomy, plus the TAH/BSO. Im trying very hard to stay calm through it all. Some of my tubes of blood didnt make it to the lab so needed to go back and give more, that didnt help any. But its only a few days to go. I'm trying to stay positive through this. But still, like right now, have moments of severe panic.

Re: Waiting making me insane.

The waiting "suck" there is no polite word for it. I'm also going to gynocologist onocologist because he does the da vinci surgery. My regular obgyn doesn't do surgeries. I hope all goes well and you find peace of mind.
