Started HRT-when will it work?

I had my hysterectomy on 1/9/12 and started estrogen replacement on 1/20/12. How long does it take before I notice a dcrease in the hot flashes?

Re: Started HRT-when will it work?

It can take awhile. I was told up to 4 weeks when I started mine. I took permarin for a few weeks and noticed very little difference but I had to switch to a patch due to side effects and I noticed the difference within days. Give it some time and in a few weeks you dont feel better give your dr a call.

Good luck

Re: Started HRT-when will it work?

I also think it depends on how estrogen deficient you were prior to the hyst. I have been very low like 22 and it took probably 2-3 months to see a noticeable change.
