Comfort before healing:)

Hello Blessed Ladies,

Have Adenomyosis and am finally scheduled for LAVH in March. I've had endo since I was 16 and have had 2 laps. I'm keeping my ovaries as they are shutting down naturally anyways.
Super scared of the surgery even though I've had 2 laps and it seems reasonably the same? I'm hoping that the pain will be done with for the first time in my life- that I can remember.
It seems to get worse and I get anxious for the procedure. then it gives me some reprieve and I think I can handle it and want to cancel>? Feeling like I've lived with it for this long?
I have ended up oddly in ER a handful of times and no one can explain why? I've passed out on floor in bathroom due to the pain but when it happened and I had my baby crawling around- it kind of scared me straight.
I think I'm ready for procedure and I'm sooo grateful it doesn't have to be 'open' & 'full'.

This site has been very calming

Re: Comfort before healing:)

Are you sure keeping your ovaries is the best idea? I've had endo all my life too and those ovaries were so much trouble. Finally had it all out Jan 5. So much happier without those estrogen producing ovaries. Good luck!

Re: Comfort before healing:)

Welcome Vadas! So glad you found this site. I'm just across the border.

I hope that the hysterectomy solves all your problems, but be advised that hyster might not solve your endo problems. There is a special forum for women who struggle with endo that might be helpful for you.

In the mean time, Wishing you all the best. Good Luck!

Re: Comfort before healing:)

I think so. It's weird. All my endo was light but yet my symptoms were always severe. I had an MRI done and all it showed was the adenomyosis "this time. I hope that this works. We don't have too many specialists in my neck of the woods but this one is 'now on my side'. She's been with me through my miracle menopause baby and with my history she believes it's time for me to try and live w/ out pain. I guess we'll cross the 'ovarie' bridge when we get there but I'm definitely crossing all possible limbs

Re: Comfort before healing:)

I was actually misdiagnosed with endo. It turned out to be adenomyosis. I suffered with massive cramps and needle stabbing pains.

Best of luck to you.
