Stitches

I had a LSH w/BSO 7 weeks ago. I feel great - back to normal. My question is, I have the ends of two stitches sticking out from both of my little incisions. How long before they fall off? I have a freaky desire to pull them, but with my luck I'll probably reopen the incisions! Anyone ever experience this? 😳

Re: Stitches

Ok I had this in 2 of my incisions. At first I had my husband clip them short. That is what my Dr said to do. Then they started to get snagged in my underwear. So my husband sterilized tweezers and pulled them gently out.
Now, this was almost 3 months after my surgery. The incisions were healed completely except for the stitch. I think it would have taken pretty long for them to dissolve.
I am not recommending this only saying that was how long they were there before dissolving.

Re: Stitches

Mine took a long time, and I kept touching them too.. its so tempting to pull! LOL

When one tail finally fell off, I was all buggered up worrying over loosing it.. geeze.. we can be silly at times!

Try to ignore as best you can, stick a band aid over it or something... I doubt it'll open anything if you pull, but trust me once its gone, you won't feel any beater about it! :-P

Re: Stitches

Please have your doctor clip them off. Do not tug or yank on them in anyway. I did and ended up giving myself an infection.

Re: Stitches

Im 6 week post op, and my doc removed 4 just laying in there. After sex ( which was ok) I noticed 2 more stitches came out on their own.
