Hormone related Asthma symptoms

Just wondering if any of you have this problem? My symptoms usually act up around the time of my cycle. Just feels like I can't get the deep breath. Last anywhere from a few hours to all day.

Re: Hormone related Asthma symptoms

Not sure how much is or isn't hormone related. What I do know is that I developed adult asthma in my late 20's. As the years went on it progessively got worse. I had horrible allergies, always had some sort of infection and spent many a night in the ER and many days at my doctor's office, I was on a first name basis with the folks in the lab and the xray dept.

After my tah/bso, my asthma symptoms improved as did my allergy problems. I have not been to the ER for asthma since. My inhalers also last me much longer.

Funny you should mention that. Sometimes I feel like I cant breathe and my heart gets palpitations etc. then it stops. I am on Vivelle patch.

I had shortness of breath symptoms when my estradiol levels were pretty low. I even had trouble taking my walks. I would feel like I just couldn't get enough air.

Re: Hormone related Asthma symptoms

It seems that a lot of woman have some sort of shortness of breath with those hormones. Plus your body is in a weakened state after such major surgery. But it would be worse if you didnt have the hormones, the hot flashes would be horrible. I am only on vivelle 0.05 mg and that is low but it helps. I do have breathing problems and I attribute it to the hormones. If it got bad then I would speak to the doctor.
