Skin sensitivity

I'm 4 weeks post-op and I am experiencing some body aches and skin sensitivity across my shoulders, down my arms and up my neck. I feel like my clothing rough on my skin and I just don't feel good. Usually in the afternoons more than the mornings. I'm exhausted by 5:30 and go to bed by 7pm most evenings. I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this kind of sensitivity and what they did to calm it. Also, how long it seemed to last.

I don't know if it is itching with the skin sensitivity. Here's an article on some items that might help you:

There can be some sensitivities related to hormone changes so even if you kept your ovaries they could be not functioning fully. So you could check with your Dr. on that.

Re: Skin sensitivity

Thank you. It's not itching actually, it's more of a soreness. It's gone now. I think what was happening was I was coming into what would have been my first "period" since my hysterectomy. I think my hormones did a surge and instead of cramps I had this achy skin issue for 3-4 days. I'm going to monitor my days and see if it comes again next "cycle."

My doctor doesn't want me to take baths yet, so I took a few extra hot showers. Plus, I still have some hydrocodone left over and that helps too.

Thank you for your response.

Re: Skin sensitivity

I had some strange skin things going on. Mostly in my tummy area but sometimes in other parts of my body. I think some of it has to do with knitting nerves. It could be hormonal too. If it isn't too awful then wait and see if it happens next month.
